White or light yellow needle-like crystals. Sweet taste. Soluble in water, about 0.06g of this product can be dissolved in 100g of absolute ethanol, soluble in 164 parts of pyridine, and almost insoluble in ether.It is commonly used as a cell culture medium component for commercial biomanufacturing of therapeutic recombinant proteins and monoclonal antibodies.
Uses: Used in pharmaceutical industry, biochemical testing and organic synthesis as a buffer, used in the preparation of tissue culture medium, copper, gold and silver test, medicine for the treatment of myasthenia gravis and progressive muscular dystrophy, hyperacidity, chronic enteritis, children with hyperprolinemia and other diseases. It is used in the treatment of myasthenia gravis and progressive muscular dystrophy; the treatment of gastric hyperacidity, chronic enteritis (often combined with antacids); combined with aspirin to reduce its stimulation of the stomach; the treatment of hyperprolinemia in children; and as a source of nitrogen for the generation of non-essential amino acids, it is added to mixed amino acid injections. Glycine is mainly used as a nutritional additive for chicken feed.
Usage Nutritional supplements. Mainly used for flavoring. Flavoring and alanine are used in alcoholic beverages, adding amount: wine 0.4%, whiskey 0.2%, champagne 1.0%. Others, such as powdered soups, add about 2%; wine lees pickled food 1%. Because it can be a certain degree of shrimp, cuttlefish flavor, can be used for seasoning sauce.
